Jewellery Care Guide
Caring For Your Jack Sterling Piece
Our piece are designed for everyday wear, but like any fine piece of jewellery, they benefit from proper care. Follow these simple tips to ensure your piece stays as pristine as the day you got it.
Keep It Clean
Sterling silver naturally develops tarnish & patina over time. To maintain its shine, clean your piece regularly with a soft cloth. For stubborn tarnish, use a silver polishing cloth or a mild silver cleaner.
Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as they can damage the finish.
Store Properly
When you’re not wearing your piece, store it in a clean, dry place. We recommend using the original box or a jewellery pouch to prevent scratches and exposure to air.
Avoid leaving your pieces in direct sunlight or damp areas, as prolonged exposure can cause silver to tarnish more quickly.
Wear With Confidence
While regular wear helps maintain the piece's appearance (it naturally reduces tarnish), take care not to expose it to excessive force. A Jack Sterling piece is built to last, but like all fine things, it benefits from being worn with intention.
Avoid Harsh Environments
Remove your piece when handling chemicals, such as cleaning agents or perfumes. These substances can cause tarnishing or damage the surface.
If you’re in a harsh environment (like the gym, swimming pool, or working with rough materials), take your piece off to protect it from wear.
Polishing & Maintenance
If you enjoy the patina of your sterling silver piece, you may prefer to allow it to naturally develop over time. However, if you prefer a brighter, more polished finish, regular cleaning with a polishing cloth will help maintain its shine.
For a deeper clean, soak your piece in warm water with mild dish soap, then dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth.
